Meet The Founder
Miana Bryant is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Washington, DC, proudly serving communities across the DMV. Originally from Prince George’s County, Maryland, she graduated from the Howard University School of Social Work and is also licensed in Maryland. Miana currently works as both a school-based therapist in Prince George’s County Public Schools and a talk therapist in private practice in Northwest DC.
She specializes in individual counseling, youth therapy, couples counseling, and Internal Family Systems (IFS), with training in cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy. Her approach is rooted in empathy, honesty, and cultural awareness, supporting clients as they navigate everything from anxiety and trauma to relationship dynamics and identity exploration.
In addition to her clinical work, Miana is working to offer self-pay therapy services and fee-for-service consultations to connect individuals, families, and organizations with culturally competent mental health resources. She is also actively expanding her work in policy advocacy to help shift the systems that often leave the most vulnerable without support.
Miana is the founder and director of The Mental Elephant, a nonprofit organization and global platform dedicated to making space for the “elephant in the room”—the unspoken, the overwhelming, and the unseen struggles so many carry. Through advocacy, education, and direct support, The Mental Elephant works to dismantle barriers to care and build a culture of healing rooted in community.
Whether in the therapy room, the classroom, or the policy space, Miana is committed to making mental wellness more accessible, more honest, and more human.
